Which Methods Of Colon Cleansing Do The Resort use?
The resort uses a mixture of
the colon cleansing
methods of Richard Anderson and
Bernard Jensen.
Richard Anderson
Richard Anderson is the author of "Cleanse and Purify Yourself", a
book in two volumes. Volume one has the main details about the
colon cleansing method.
(Available from www.amazon.com )
Anderson recommends a progressive colon cleansing, based on the use of his
herbal capsules, plus gradual cutting down of food eaten over a
period of about a month and a half. Most of Anderson's patients
carry the colon cleansing out while they are still
working.
The three main phases of Anderson's method are:
- Phase 1. Two mainly vegetable
and salad meals a day, and three psyllium/clay drinks a day. This
is carried out for 2-3 weeks.
- Phase 2. One mainly vegetable
and salad meal a day, and four psyllium/clay drinks a day. This is
carried out for 3-7 days.
- Phase 3. No solid meals, and
five psyllium/clay drinks a day. This is carried out for 7-10
days
The total time for
Anderson's colon cleansing
is 4-5 weeks. However, the Spa Samui basically offers the last week
of the colon cleansing - phase 3 above - without the lead in.
This is because few people can spare 4-5 weeks for a cleanse.
If you are committed to a
thorough colon
cleansing, it would be
best to get Anderson's books and do the "pre-cleansing" at home
before you go to the Spa Samui resort for the final, intensive week
of your colon cleansing. If you
cannot manage the whole month of Phases 1 and 2 above (Anderson
calls them the "Gentle Phase" and the "Power Phase"), then do what
you can to prepare yourself before you start the Spa Samui colon
cleansing. This will maximise colon cleansing and minimise any
side-effects caused by the release of toxins.
For most fairly healthy people, going straight into the Spa Samui
colon cleansing would not pose too many problems. However,
elimination effects, such as dizziness, nausea and headaches, are a
definite possibility. To avoid these prepare well in advance with
the following:
- Phase out tea and coffee in
the three weeks prior to the colon
cleansing. If you cut down to one cup a day for a week, then
half a cup a day for a week, then nothing - you may well notice no
side effects at all.
- Cut out meat and dairy foods -
milk, eggs, cheese and cream.
- Increase the amount of salads
and non-starchy vegetables in the diet.
- Eat more fruit and drink more
fruit juice to get ready for the colon
cleansing.
If you have blood sugar
problems or candida overgrowth, read Anderson's books and talk to
your own natural health advisors for further advice. Basically, you
should avoid sugar, and probably carrot juice as it is high in
sugar. Other vegetable juices are probably acceptable by your
body.
Bernard Jensen
Bernard Jensen, naturopath and iridology, strongly focussed on
improving colon health through colon
cleansing. He developed a special method of colon cleansing
which he called the "colema". This is described elsewhere in this
article.
The Spa Samui resort provides colemas twice a day.
Interestingly, Anderson makes little or no mention of colemas,
although Jensen writes the introduction to one of Anderson's books.
In his writing, Anderson says he is "one of those people" who
cannot take an enema while lying on his back. This would preclude
him from using the colema, so perhaps it is the reason he does not
recommend it specifically.
I know Jensen has fantastic colon
cleansing results
for his patients with colemas, so I would certainly recommend
combining them with Anderson's routine.
