Colon Cleansing Programme - Thailand
Why Do Colon
Cleansing?
Colon cleansing
in Koh Samui, Thailand sounded
like a great idea in a comprehensive article in the Guardian
newspaper (UK). The centre is still there - a few years later - and
has expanded; clearly, colon cleansing is a growing industry
in that area. It offers complete relaxation, help and support in
your colon cleansing programme and complete removal from day-to-day
pressures.
The colon cleansing methods used
were basic to naturopathy - fasting and "colemas" (an effective
type of enema pioneered by Bernard Jensen, the American "father of
iridology").
The Theory of
Detoxifying
The theory of detoxification says that bad habits of
living cause bodily toxins - many of them naturally produced - to
accumulate in the tissues and organs. The toxins are normally
eliminated through the colon and the body's other excretory
organs (the excretory organs are listed below). Anything which
stops these organs working at their peak - such as illness, stress,
inherited weaknesses and ageing - causes toxins to accumulate in
the tissues, reducing efficiency of the body. Colon cleansing
and detoxification help to address these
issues.
Unfortunately, the weaker an
organ is (whether it is weak through inheritance, or through
damage) the more likely it is that retained toxins will settle in
the tissues of that organ. This makes it progressively even weaker.
If nothing is done to correct the situation - such as detox - then, after a time,
symptoms will occur followed by degeneration and disease of the
organ or area in question.
Colon cleansing strikes at the heart of
this issue by reducing the level of toxins in the area where many
of them - and many of the most poisonous toxins - are
created.

The harm caused by toxins can be
reduced by:
1. Reducing the amounts contained in, and caused by, what we take
in - mainly the food we eat. To do this, we can reduce or eliminate
chemical additives, and maintain the proportion of starches and
protein in the diet at a reasonable level - around 25% of the diet.
At this level of intake, the acids produced by digested starches
and protein can be dealt with effectively by the body. At higher
levels naturopaths believe that the acids formed cause extra work
for the body, and easily lead to disease.
2. Eliminating the toxins which have already accumulated in the
body - which includes ensuring the health and well-being of our
"elimination" organs, primarily the kidneys, bowel, skin,
lungs. Colon cleansing
is important here. The immune
system and liver are also strongly involved in helping elimination,
so it is important to ensure their good health too.
